Ice climbing

It isn't only rocks that are ideal terrain for climbing – ice can be just as good. Nowadays many people enjoy this discipline beyond the high mountains, especially on the frozen waterfalls in the mountain valleys during winter. In Špindlerův Mlýn you can climb on ice on the rock at the end of the Keep Fit route in Labský důl. Because this is the only venue and it is situated in the heart of the national park, numbers are restricted. The waterfall is fairly small so climbers are limited to 16 per day, which enables the sport to be enjoyed by others.
